Privacy
This is a translation for convenience. The binding version is the German privacy notice.
First of all: this page sets no cookies, embeds nothing from other servers and builds no profile of anyone. All it counts is how often it is called up — without a cookie and without an identifier (see “Server logs” further down). The fonts sit on the same server as the page, so there is no connection to Google Fonts either.
- Controller
- Yannick Andricek, address see legal notice, info@able-ventures.de
- What happens when you sign up
- What is stored is your email address and whatever you choose to add (name, organisation, role, your message), plus the time of the sign-up and of the confirmation and your shortened IP address. Shortened means: the last part is removed, and you cannot be recognised by it any more. The timestamp and this shortened address are the evidence that the sign-up really came from you.
- What for
- To write to you when Able-Ventures starts — and to understand how many people are looking for something like this.
- Legal basis
- Your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. It only takes effect when you click the link in the confirmation email (double opt-in).
- How long
- Until you unsubscribe. If you do not confirm, the address is deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Backups
- The server backs itself up every night so that nothing is lost if it fails. Your address may still appear in those backups for up to 90 days after deletion; after that it is overwritten there as well. Nothing is sent and nothing is evaluated from a backup — and if one ever had to be restored, your deletion would be carried out again afterwards.
- Who else sees the data
- The page runs on a server operated by Hostinger International Ltd. in Germany (as a processor). The confirmation email is sent by the domain's email provider. There are no other recipients, and no transfer to countries outside the EU takes place.
- My phone tells me that somebody has signed up — but really only that: the type of entry, the running total, and whether a message came with it. Your name, your address and the text of your message stay on the server and are not transmitted for this.
- Text size and contrast
- If you change how the page looks using the A+ / A− buttons or
"Contrast", your browser remembers those two values locally on your device
(
localStorage), so that you do not have to set them again on every page. They are two numbers — no identifier, no profile — and they are not transmitted anywhere; I cannot see them. Because they serve only the display you asked for yourself, no consent is required for this (§ 25 para. 2 no. 2 TDDDG, the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). You can delete them by clearing this site's data in your browser. - Server logs
- When the home page is called up, the form is sent or the link in the confirmation email is clicked, the server records it: the time, the shortened IP address (the last part is removed), whether the browser identifies itself as a program (such as a messenger's link preview), whether it is a phone or a computer, and which website you came from — only its name, not the address of the page. Phone or computer is derived from the browser's identifier; the identifier itself is not stored. At that same moment the country is determined from the full IP address, and within the German-speaking area the federal state or canton; only this result is stored (“Bayern”), and the address itself only in shortened form. The lookup happens on the same server using a table stored there — your address is not passed on to anyone for this. These records serve secure operation and the question of whether the page is being found, and they are deleted after 90 days (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in secure operation and in this count). What remains afterwards is only numbers per month and region that cannot be traced back to anyone. Separately, the web server keeps a technical access log with the full IP address, the time, the address called up and the browser's identifier. It serves only to find errors and fend off attacks and is deleted after 14 days (also Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Your rights
- You can ask at any time for access, correction, deletion or restriction, object to the processing, and request your data in a portable format. An informal email is enough. You can also lodge a complaint with the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
- Withdrawing consent
- The unsubscribe link at the end of every email is enough. Your address is deleted afterwards; the fact that there was a sign-up remains as an anonymous number.
