Accessibility

This page should be usable without anyone having to ask for it. Because that is exactly what Able-Ventures promises, this is where I say how far I have got — and where I cannot prove it.

As of
Measured on 14 October 2026, first published on 16 September 2026. Every time the page is rebuilt it is measured again; the date here is always the date of the last measurement.
What I measure against
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, level AA — the same version the European standard EN 301 549 builds on.
How it was tested
Self-assessment with my own measurement runs in the browser, in four states: light and dark, each with and without the contrast switch. Among other things every piece of text is checked against the background it actually sits on — not the one in the stylesheet; plus the outlines and areas of all icons, every stop in the tab order, the focus rings, the heading order, the target sizes, motion and text spacing.
In the last run that came to 1,680 measured states of window width, text size, view and language in which nothing overflows sideways and no text is cut off, plus 280 without JavaScript in light and dark mode and 80 with the increased text spacing, 672 states in which every card of the fan came to the front once and its text fitted the card, 65 stops in the tab order with none unreachable or hidden, and, across 640 states, no text and no icon below its threshold.
What's built in
The page is fully usable without JavaScript: the forms are ordinary forms, the menu on narrow screens opens without a script, the fan is then a list of all eight cards and the slideshow a list of all the images with their descriptions. Browser zoom is never intercepted — Ctrl with plus, minus or the mouse wheel does exactly what it does everywhere else. With JavaScript, the A+ and A− buttons for the text size and a contrast switch are added, which also makes the symbols bolder, not just the text; without JavaScript they do not appear at all. On top of that there is support for Windows contrast mode, and if you have reduced animations in your system, you get none here.
What I can't prove
  • There is no third-party audit. Everything here is self-assessment.
  • The page has not been tested with people who use a screen reader every day. Machine measurement finds a missing label, but not every place where an announcement is hard to follow.
  • There is no easy-read version and no sign language. Both are open, and not forgotten.
  • The screenshots have descriptions that say what can be seen — their content is not written out in full next to them.
  • In the fan at the top only one card can be read in full; the others sit partly hidden behind it. A screen reader hears only the one in front. Everything on the cards is set out in full further down.
If something doesn't work
Write to me at info@able-ventures.de.
It helps to know what you are using — device, browser, assistive technology — and where it goes wrong. I answer within five working days and tell you whether and when I can change it. Including when the answer is „not any time soon“.
Why this is here
Whether this page falls under the German Accessibility Strengthening Act has not been settled. This statement is here regardless: anyone who promises accessibility should start by disclosing their own.
